Rules for Parade Participants
- You
must follow all rules, procedures and requests from any government employee
and/or anyone assigned to assist in the parade operation.
- Make
sure you stay in your assigned location before the start of the parade and
you must be ready to start in the parade procession upon request without
delay.
- Once
you have started in the parade procession, please keep moving approximately
20 feet behind the entry in front of you. Due to the number of entries, you
must keep it moving, so no entry gets delayed at the start or anytime during
the parade. Do not hold up
the parade for any reason.
- If
you have any mechanical difficulties with any of your vehicles or
medical/health problems concerning any person or animal in your entry group,
please move over to the side of the road immediately, so other entries
behind you can proceed without stalling parade progress. This will also
enable us to get medical/emergency help to you quickly.
- Please
be extremely careful while walking or riding on a vehicle/float in the
parade. Once the parade has started, no one can get off and/or on any vehicle, even if it is not
moving. This includes floats, cars, wagons, horses, etc. Supervise any
children in your group very closely. We do not want anyone to get run over
or fall off of a vehicle.
- Do
not throw any objects,
including candy, during the parade. If you have candy or other items to pass
out, you may have someone from your group that is walking, directly hand out
candy, items, etc. This prevents any children/spectators from coming into
the parade travel area, increasing the risk of getting hit or injured. This
also helps keep our town clean.
- Please
do not act disorderly or get in any confrontations with anyone. No obscene
and offensive gestures, comments, posters, or signs will be allowed. If you
are having a problem with someone, contact a law enforcement officer and we
will resolve the situation.
- Careless
and reckless driving will not
be tolerated. No spinning tires included.
- Everyone
is subject to all state laws, town ordinances, policies and procedures.
- The
Town reserves the right to issue any permit upon their discretion and revoke
any permit. The Town of
Troutman
reserves the right to make any changes and operate the parade procedures for
the safety and well-being of the citizens.
This to include the town government following and requests, orders,
procedures, laws and ordinances.
- Any
violations of laws, ordinances, rules, and requests may result in you being
formally charged and/or ejected from the parade.
- Have
fun and enjoy the parade.
